But then again if NATO doesn't stop a madman like Milosevic, there may
not be any homeless left to worry about. Conflicts like the one
inspired by Milosevic and his misguided troops have a tendency,
historically speaking, to spread. A spread quickly.
We all know that cancerous tumors spread unless they're attacked at the
core. Concerns for "multimillion dollar missle(s)" are empty if there
is no one left to protect.
Concerns for spending "too much money on missles" are hollow if the
alternative is continued ethinic strife, death, homelessness, misery,
madmen like Hussein and Milosevic, etc.
They ought to be put out of business NOW, regardless of criticism
whether NATO should have done so least year or 5 years ago. That's mute
at this point.
Furthermore, arguing that point will nothing except strengthen a
madman's resolve.
What must be done, whether you're a Democrat or Republican, Libertarian
or Flaming Liberal, American or European, Albanian or Serbian, Iraqi or
Iranian, is to rid the world of the ethinic hatred and vicious nonstop
death and murder supported by the likes of Iraq's leader Saddam Hussein
and Yugoslav President Slobodan Milosevic.
President Clinton's motivations asides, support for our brave men and
women doing battle in the Balkans must be firm and committed.
