Hitler gave the German people Wagner? Wagner had his own theater in
Bayreut (sp?) long before Hitler was even born. His music was played all
over the world. There was a reaction against Wagner's music among French
composers in the late 1890s. The Metropolitan Opera of New York had a
whole group of singers devoted to nothing but singing Wagner's operas
before the turn of the century. To say that Hitler gave the people
Wagner is non-sense.
