First off, it's NOT capitalism. It's simply an economic exchange --
"barter," mediated by money, i.e., a transferable "right" to goods at value,
"earned" by labor, traded for labor.
Now, if you contracted with me to paint your front porch, it cost me $20 in
labor and materials to do it, and you only paid me $10 --making MONEY "FOR
NOTHING," but your PROFIT of $10 only paid for by MY loss-- THAT would be
capitalism.
So, where does the State come in?
Well, you just defrauded and robbed me, breaching our contract -- and
contracts are a matter of "law," enforceable by the State through its legal
system.
So I take you to court, argue my case against you, and appeal to the judge to
fulfill his legal obligation under the laws of the State to right this
"wrong," i.e., inequity, a "crime" (injustice) in the economic exchange.
Unfortunately, YOU, in effect, spend $5 of the $10 which you style from me to
hire a sophisticated con man called a "lawyer," who argues speciously that
the crime which his client committed was not "really" a crime, and who by any
means necessary --lying, destroying evidence, intimidating witnesses, etc--
succeeds in swaying the judge (who's indebted to you anyway, for his own
job!) to decide AGAINST me, i.e., AGAINST the "right" being asserted by me.
Rather than JUSTICE prevailing and you paying me another $10 to bring my
payment for work done back to the agreed-upon $20, thereby restoring equity,
the ironic result of the State's intervention is that, even after being
cheated by you, "the law" rules that I OWE YOU, and I have to pay YOUR
lawyer, YOUR judge, etc., to PROTECT your "PROFIT."
Now, THAT's capitalism!
