# China busts 70 in meditation sect. BEIJING (AP) Chinese authorities irked
by a meditation group's silent protests & public gatherings have detained
at least 70 members. Police arrested members of Falun Gong in 16 cities,
seizing their books and smashing images of the group's leader Li Hongzhi.
The charges are unknown, and cops in Beijing and other cities declined to
confirm reports. The Falun Gong has been under government scrutiny since
April 25, when more than 10,000 members silently surrounded the Communist
