**White Supremacist Found Guilty Of Texas Murder**
A Texas jury Monday found white supremacist Lawrence Russell Brewer guilty
of capital murder for the grisly 1998 dragging death of a black man in
Jasper, Texas. The jury, which deliberated about four hours before
reaching its unanimous verdict, will next decide whether Brewer, 32, goes
to prison for life or dies by lethal injection.

**N.Y. cardinal says he's sorry for anti-Semitism**
Cardinal John O'Connor has expressed sorrow for the anti-Semitic history
of the Catholic Church in a letter made public over the weekend by Jewish
leaders. ``I ask this Yom Kippur that you understand my own abject sorrow
for any member of the Catholic Church, high or low, who may have harmed
you or your forebears in any way,'' the cardinal said in the letter.

**KKK Endorses Gubernatorial Candidate**
The Mississippi Ku Klux Klan has endorsed a candidate for governor. Mark
Parker was touted as the group's choice to lead the state during a K-K-K
rally over the weekend. Twelve klansmen marched into the town of
Philadelphia, dressed in sheets. The marchers quickly drew a crowd of
hundreds to hear their thoughts on religion, race and politics.

**Aryan ripple led to wave of protest**
There was some yelling, some pushing and shoving. An Aryan was kicked in
the groin. One protester was arrested. A handful of local reporters
covered the event. Now look at what Coeur d'Alene is enduring. In July
1998, 1,000 protesters lined Sherman Avenue as 92 Aryans marched. Numerous
shouting matches erupted. Two dozen people were arrested. Reporters came
from as far as London and Portugal to cover the parade.

** Churches plan anti-hatred walk**
A coalition of Christian churches in Spokane is sponsoring a walk from
Spokane's only synagogue to the Episcopal Cathedral to fight hate.The
event was originally planned as an alternative to an Aryan Nations parade
scheduled in Coeur d'Alene on Labor Day.

**Cleveland police writing fewer tickets since Klan rally**
Cleveland police officers have written fewer tickets since a Ku Klux Klan
rally on Aug. 21 because of tensions between officers and Mayor Michael R.
White, a police union lawyer said. ``The decline is a reflection of the
genuine concern about the bad working environment created by this
administration,'' Patrick D'Angelo, lawyer for the Cleveland Police
Patrolman's Association, told The Plain Dealer for a story Sunday
