Exactly! And, IMHO, THIS is precisely what Jesus says time and time again:
no one--no human being--is ever going to know when the Endtimes will begin.
That is a divine prerogative, and desiring to usurp that prerogative is
purest hubris, overweening pride, the pride that goeth before a fall. Even
to SPECULATE about it borders on hubris. Our part in the drama is here and
now--to spread the good news, to demonstrate *through our own lives* the
truth of Christ's message, to build a society that embodies the ethical
principles Jesus taught...which are virtually identical with the core
ethical teachings of all great religions, like it or not. Please note that I
DON'T say that our role is to go out and convert all of humanity. Conversion
is between the individual and God...we can bring the sinner to the altar,
but it must be the sinner's choice to kneel and ask for God's forgiveness.
