In my case, I had xrays showing the subluxation (which the
driver's doctor and insurance admitted was present in the
xrays), and the agreement of a the consulting neurologist
as to the diagnosis. In my case, I had a set of 'before'
xrays done just 6 months before, and the 'after' xrays
left no question that I had a subluxation which was
pinching a nerve.
As much as you try to denigrate chiropractors, the FACT
remains that almost everyone who pursues nothing but
traditional AMA-approved protocols for back problems never
achieve relief, and more often than not end up WORSE than
when they started....
Something you rarely hear about in regards to chiropractic.
Chiropractic patients report great relief, without having
to resort to drugs, or to invasive surgery which usually
leaves them in more pain than before.
And if it was such a 'quack', why do insurance companies,
in this day and age when they are severely cutting back on
what they will pay for, continue to expand their coverage
to chiropractic and other 'alternative' forms of medicine?

Funny, mine was. My condition met your definition above. It
was clearly visible on xray, not only to my chiropractor, but
also to the consulting neurologist, and the driver's doctor
and insurance reps.
I started out being unable to sleep at night due to the pain,
to being completely pain free...without resorting to drugs,
without being subjected to invasive surgery. Xrays confirmed
that the subluxation was corrected.
My condition wasn't alleviated by chiropractic alone, but
chiropractic in tandem with hydrotherapy prescribed by the
neurologist who worked WITH my chiropractor. A neurologist
who concurred with my chiropractor that chiropractic treatments
were indicated, for he actually wrote that up as part of his
prescribed treatment (e.g., 'x' amount of chiropractic
treatments a week in conjunction with the hydrotherapy).
I'm sure we'll now find you providing some treatise condemning
neurologists and/or hydrotherapy, too...
