You answered you own question...it's the placebo effect...add to that the
fact that many who claim miracle cures with expensive sugar pills or massage
often turn to them as a last resort, and that at this time the body's own
immune system is doing it's thing...timing is often the key between a bad
doctor and a great one.

Well, no doubt there are adverse reactions and outright
malpractice...however, since what you call "traditional" medicine is where
most sick people turn and since there is such a thing as a terminal illness,
you're bound to find deaths...Are you familiar with some of the horrible
maimings and even deaths that have resulted from chiropractic care?
