Saddam Still Pursuing Nuclear Weapons, Says Iraqi Scientist
Iraqi President Saddam Hussein's former nuclear weapons expert Khidhir
Hamza said Iraq is only months away from making a workable bomb. However,
Hamza said Iraq must rely on foreign sources for fissile material.
"I don't think that he will keep it a secret," said Hamza. "Once Saddam
Hussein's weapons of mass destruction [WMD] program is capable of
generating a couple of nuclear devices, Saddam will use it to his own
ends," he said. Hamza predicted that Saddam would test one of the devices
and then declare himself "a nuclear power."
Hamza started working in Iraq's nuclear program in the 1970s after
studying physics in the United States; he defected to the West in 1995.
Hamza spoke at a book signing reception at the Carnegie Endowment for
International Peace in Washington on November 2. His book, co-authored
with Jeff Stein, is entitled "Saddam's Bomb Maker: The Terrifying Inside
Story of the Iraqi Nuclear and Biological Weapons Agenda." The book was
released in the United States November 2 and in Europe in October.
The Iraqi scientist related how Saddam Hussein hoodwinked the
International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) for years, even though Iraq
signed the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty in 1968 and ratified it in
1969. "That [ratification] made our nuclear-power cover stories
internationally acceptable and justified our major nuclear purchases with
the full backing of the IAEA," Hamza said.
Hamza noted that after the Arab armies were defeated in the 1967 War with
Israel, Iraq started a nuclear program "to have at least parity with
Israel." In 1972, Saddam Hussein approved an initial plan that led to
Iraq's acquisition two years later of a nuclear reactor from France for a
plutonium bomb, he said. At the time, he said, Iraq's initial investment
in the program was $500 million and the program employed 500 technicians.
Israel's attack on Iraq's Osirak nuclear reactor facility in 1981 kicked
Saddam's nuclear weapons program into high gear, Hamza said. "Israel made
a mistake in hitting the reactor," he said. Saddam responded by launching
a new eight-year-long secret program in 1982 to build a nuclear bomb
inventory that would eventually cost $10,000 million and employ 7,000
technicians and scientists, Hamza said.
Hamza said Saddam was driven by a desire to make Iraq a nuclear power and
the center of Arab power and unity. Saddam "needed a crude device to drop
on Israel," Hamza said.
After the Gulf War in 1991, Iraq continued with its secret nuclear weapons
development program, says Hamza. The program was eventually discovered by
United Nations inspection teams, who began to dismantle it until they were
ordered to leave Iraq at the end of 1998.
Hamza's book relates how Iraq tested biological and chemical weapons on
human subjects, most of whom were political prisoners, but also on Kurds
in the north and Shiites in the south.
The Iraqi nuclear expert said that while he was working on the nuclear
program, the Iraqi regime recruited Iraqi university students for
clandestine WMD programs and "some of the students died due to exposure."
Conditions inside Iraq became so bad for the scientists and their families
that many fled, said Hamza. One of the problems for Saddam today, he said,
"is that no one is returning home" to work on the WMD programs.
Hamza asserted that the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO) tried to
recruit him to make a bomb and Baghdad had a secret program aimed at
breaking into U.S. and other foreign computer systems.

Flying Creature Spotted in Pennsylvania
Five witnesses in Pennsylvania reported in early August an unusual
encounter with what they described as a "Gliding Alien."
Stan Gordon, of the Pennsylvania UFO Hotline, wrote to ufology news lists
this week that the investigation of a report of an alien gliding over
fields near Uniontown had been completed by UFO investigator Jim Brown, a
professional electrical engineer who interviewed the witnesses in the
case.
At about 10 p.m. on Aug. 3, five witnesses saw what they described as an
alien "glide" across a field near Uniontown, PA, said Brown. "The
witnesses describe the being as about 5 feet tall with long slender
extremities. It carried a brown staff about 5 feet long."
The entity glided over the area for about a minute, with the witnesses
located about 250 feet from it, said Brown. "No apparent disturbances to
the area around the being were reported. The creature appeared to glide
about 6 inches above the ground, according to the witnesses. Weather
conditions were cool and clear with no wind. No sounds were reported, and
witnesses commented on it seeming abnormally quiet at the time. Crickets
and other normal background noises were absent," he said.
When they drover further up the road to see if they could get a better
view of what they'd seen, the entity had disappeared. "The witnesses
returned home after their encounter. They reported no serious effects from
their sighting, although three of them did claim to be very tired the next
day," said Brown.
Three weeks after the incident, Brown said he had the first opportunity to
visit the area with four of the witnesses, and found no physical
evidence of the encounter. "The case is still open and
investigation continues," said Brown.
The Pennsylvania UFO Hotline, said Gordon, first learned of the
gliding-alien encounter from a friend who was acquainted with one of the
five witnesses. "The witness agreed to speak with me confidentially about
the incident. I had the opportunity to interview him twice by phone, and
plans were underway so that a first hand interview could be set up with
those involved," said Gordon. It was delayed due to an emergency in his
family, with Brown following up on the investigation.

Anti-Missile Laser Gets Funding
The ambitious program to develop an anti-missile laser system to be based
in Earth's orbit received $97 million in new funding Monday for
continuation of design work.
Team SBL-IFX (Space-Based Laser Integrated Flight Experiment), a joint
venture of Boeing, TRW and Lockheed Martin, received the funding from the
Air Force Space & Missile Command at Los Angeles Air Force Base.
The award covers the so-called Increment 2 design work started in May 1999
and aimed at developing a satellite capable of carrying a laser weapon
into space by the 2012 target date.
"Team SBL-IFX is continuing to make solid progress identifying and
refining the requirements, design and manufacturing technologies needed
to meet the size, weight, cost and performance requirements of the SBL-IFX
program," Barry Waldman, director of Team SBL-IFX, said in a press
release. Increment 2 also includes further refinement of the laser itself
as well as its control systems.

'Extinct' Lions Surface in Siberia
Two lion cubs are to travel from Siberia to South Africa after being
recognized as belonging to a sub-species long thought extinct. The Cape
lion was supposed to have been killed off in the mid-1800s.
But Russian TV says three-month-old cubs in Novosibirsk zoo are descended
from the breed. Zoo-keepers say the lions thrive in Siberia despite
temperatures as low as -40C in winter. The cubs' parents, named Simon and
Rita, had two litters this year.
South African zoo director John Spence had been searching for surviving
Cape lions, and recognized the cubs from photographs. He is to take the
two cubs to his own zoo in an attempt to restore the breed in South
Africa.
The Cape lions were bigger in the body than other lions, and had a thick
black mane which sometimes reached the middle of their back. They also had
distinctive black tips to their ears.
It is not known how the lions arrived in Siberia, but the family in
Novosibirsk is supposed to be descended from a lion left behind by a
circus many years ago.
This is not the first time that supposedly extinct breeds of lion have
apparently been found surviving in small populations. Former Emperor
Haile Selassie of Ethiopia's personal troupe of lions, which survived for
many years in a zoo in Addis Ababa, were thought to be descended from
Barbary lions, also long believed to have been wiped out.
Zoo staff in Novosibirsk say they will be sorry to part with the two cubs
- but they are happy that they are "going home".

- IT'S A MIRACLE DEPARTMENT -
Stones From Eye Get Girl Instant Fame
HAVERI: Fourteen-year-old Shobha Guruputrayya Sutturmath residing in
Maradur village (30 km from here) was the talk of the town for around two
months, after it became public that stones were falling from her left eye.
With crowds streaming in to witness the spectacle, she was immediately
catapulted to fame and sleepless nights. However, doctors who examined her
came to the conclusion that it was no miracle, but self-torture, to hog
publicity perhaps.
When a Times reporter went along with the programme officer of the Health
and Family Welfare department Dr C M Hiremath, eye specialists Dr S S
Tukkannavar and Dr K V Patil to visit her,
they got to the bottom of the real story.
Dr Patil examined the girl and asked her to sit in front of him. For more
than an hour she was not allowed to stir out. There were no stones falling
from her eye. Then she asked if she could go out to answer the call of
nature. She was allowed to go. She returned soon after to tell the doctor
that a stone had formed in her eye, showing it to him. The stone fell from
her eye in front of the visitors.
Doctors immediately concluded that the bizarre activity was in fact
stage-managed by the girl. She would push small stones under her eyelid
and pretend that they had formed in her eye and were falling from there.
The doctors did not know why she indulged in the activity, and said she
needed psychiatric treatment.
"She must stop this dangerous habit to hog publicity, before her eye gets
destroyed," they warned.

Weird Animal Shot Near Pendleton Oregon
A weird animal, described as a fur-bearing quadruped, was shot in
mid-October 2000 in the vicinity of Umatilla Woman Mountain, just
southeast of Pendleton, Oregon (population 19,000).
"The skeleton of a large animal shot about two weeks ago" in the woods
near Pendleton "remains unknown." "U.S. Fish and Wildlife (Service)
officials said they may never learn if the animal killed was a wolf or a
wolf hybrid in DNA testing."
Phil Carroll, a spokesman for the agency, said they would not release the
results. Their reluctance to comment on the identity of the animal drew
fire from Ric Bailey, executive director of the Hells Canyon Preservation
Council.
Bailey said the agency's behavior is of "serious concern" and he called
the agency's objectivity in the matter 'suspect. If the animal is in fact
a wolf that wandered into Oregon from Idaho, it would be the first wolf
shot in Oregon since the predators were exterminated decades ago.
Recently wolf tracks have been reported in the mountains of eastern Oregon.

- LETTERS FROM OUR READERS DEPARTMENT -
The following letter details an alleged secret experiment conducted in
India regarding suicide. The sender has requested that they remain
anonymous.
PSYCHOLOGICAL STUDY
This is a study possible in every country, not just in India. The aim of
this study is not clear to me but since I know this has happened, I want
to share this information with the world. This study involves the putting
a person in artificial circumstances of stress to see whether or not he
will commit suicide.
BUT HOW THIS IS POSSIBLE?
Model of the study: The person on whom the study is being conducted is
induced with artificial hardships of his life in which he is not supposed
to face. For example, the unexpected death of his only son. How does the
person behave when faced with that hardship? Or if he is a student and
unexpectedly fails his courses when he thought he was passing. How would
someone face that situation? Perhaps will go in depression or may go mad.
With this, the doctor will have a patient suffering from depression and
will treat a disease that has been artificially induced. As well, soon
family members are unwittingly involved in the experiment by believing the
victim is actually mentally unstable.
It is of course compulsory that the victim not know about the experiment.
This is currently being done in Indian psychological studies.
I have tried to get the more info but I have been hindered in my progress.
But, I know this is true because in and around the 16th march 1998 a case
occurred in the all India institute of the medical sciences in which the
supposed person said this experiment has been done to them, but so far no
one has believed this could happen.
I have tried to find the truth, but it seems to me that this is an
incredibly top secret experiment and reliable information has been
difficult to find. I have contacted my contacts parents who told me that
their son was incurably insane, but I am convinced that there is some
truth in his statements.
I cannot be certain that this experiment has not been conducted on others.
I don't know how many students and people have had their lives ruined by
these unscrupulous people.
I have been told that a few people know all the details of this program,
but they are forbidden to leak out any information that could alert the
victims of this experiment that there could be other factors involved in
their condition.
The same person lodged a complaint to NIRMAN BHAWAN, NEW DELHI sometime
around the last week of february,1995. He was also asked to get a
psychiatric check by one of his professors which he did without asking any
questions in january,1998.
In the psychiatric department of the SAFDARJUNG HOSPITAL, NEW DELHI, CASE
NO. 159/98.
HE LODGED A COMPLAINT TO THE MUCH HYPED INDIAN AGENCY CBI IN FEB,1998.BUT
GOT NO RESPONSE FROM THEM.
This friend of mine after that got treatment from SAFDARJUNG HOSPITAL, NEW
DELHI on the 3rd and 6th of April 1998 from the psychiatric department.
Nothing has been said or revealed to him but to complete their study(as
told to me by my friend) they asked unnecessary questions which are
irrelevant to him and his case. When he asked about what they are doing to
him, they told him he was insane and that they were not doing anything
harmful to him.
Some details of the panic episodes:
1.His father said to him that after so much of the failure anybody would
have a nervous breakdown.
2. He also asked after the episode of the all India institute of the
medical science, New Delhi; that their purpose is almost complete and they
have now started rehabilitation.
3. Much to his horror, he found himself on one occasion surrounded by a
group of unknown people who surrounded him and said that they could read
his thoughts. To his surprise he got more frightened then he thought he
should have, rang me up and asked what he should do.
I said to him, "I am always with you; you need not to worry, carry on your
journey." This was very comforting to him and his panic attack ceased
almost immediately.
Questions:
1. If anybody doubts my statements then he can confirm the records of the
ALL INDIA INSTITUTE OF THE MEDICAL SCIENCES ,NEW DELHI, MARCH,1998.
Psychiatric Department.
2. Does not these experiments violate basic human rights?
3. Why are the foolish people of India doing this? I want to know?
4. Why are my friends relatives involved?
5. Isn't this a violation of all laws of humanity?
I am sure about each of my statements and I want to know from the experts
in the field of Psychiatry why is it possible to ethically do such
studies on unknowing victims.
Still I have collected these documentary evidences for the proof of my
statements. By the time you people try to check on these things they can
destroy the evidence. For them life costs even less than a cigarette.

Hi everyone,
One of the most intelligent and honest people I have been emailing the
past couple years died on 10/28, his wife Debbie wrote to me tonight.
Jim was the most intelligent and honest free-energy motor builder in the
world. I wrote to him maybe 100 times the past couple years. He always
answered everything I asked and I hope my research helped him too. For
examples, He built over 20 Adams-style motors. Another 20
or more plate-generators. He studied Tesla and knew all about winding
bifilars and their affects... I sent him a chassis and coils to tinker
with so he could check out my pulse-motor. He liked the fact that my
matching-coils "shock-freeze" one another for power... When I was really
down last year from getting kicked around by the armchair skeptics, he
wrote to me and said: "looks like you stopped to argue!"
He gave me the idea to hook flourescents to my high-voltage output of my
stray-flux "splatter coils" -----"at least you have a new way to light up
flourescent's " he said...
I have all his emails and am going to condense them into a sort of tribute
of his research and tests.
