On Sat, Nov 18, 2017 at 10:21:05PM +0000 I heard the voice of Aaron Sloman, and lo! it spake thus: > > Unfortunately, firefox changes its window label every time I switch > to a new tab in the window, and that new label is also shown in the > iconmanager. > > Opera has a different problem: NO window labels. I can assign window > labels using xprop -set WM_NAM (as I learnt from Matthew Fuller).
It did occur to me at one point that we could just add checking extra properties to override WM_NAME/WM_ICON_NAME. That would let you override windows regardless. > I suppose Ctwm would not be able to remember externally allocated > window labels across a reboot either? No way anything could possibly know what windows to apply them to. -- Matthew Fuller (MF4839) | [email protected] Systems/Network Administrator | http://www.over-yonder.net/~fullermd/ On the Internet, nobody can hear you scream.
