Actually it may not even be that easy.

CTwm under SuSE could be linked to a cursors library that provides
"better" cursors that are not the standard X window cursors.

I have seen these weird cursors, and thoughly hated them for window
manager use, though they were okay for appliaction use.

Without information of library and font linkages this may not be easy to
diagnose.  A long more invistigation is needed before you can say just
where the cursors are coming from and how you can 'fix' them.
