A poster from the suse-linux-e list suggested trying to change the KDE
settings for the cursors. Perhaps this is the origin of the pointers because
of kdm being run.
I've made the change but I'll have to restart X to test it. I haven't had a
chance to do that yet. I'll report back here when I do.
