Hi Friedger & Doug & Lobster & All -

I have been reading the mail threads quietly for a few days and just wanted to take a moment and say Hi, introduce myself here.

So, Hi.

I am finding the [EMAIL PROTECTED] a good place to share and learn. I too tried to join the apparently defunct other curl group on yahoo.

Thanks. I am also finding reading the mails from the mailing list very helpful, even though i have not posted any questions yet.

The ads from yahoo are a hindrance, i agree. But for me, a forum such as those offered by yahoo works nicely - i tend to join lists with a 'no mail' setting and choose to go to the forum to check in regularly. My mailbox is very small and so the forums work well.

I agree.

Thanks for the link to the wiki and i like Lobster's idea of a chat room. Thanks for the link to the one you are experimenting with. It seems easy to use, friendly.

What is the status of running Curl on Netscape, say version 7.x? I seem unable to locate the Netscape plugin at run time...

PS - About my intro? I am a beginner with Curl, though have 20 years professional experience as a software developer, largely in assorted flavors of basic, and as a database specialist. I am not an HTML or java coder. I do find Curl wonderful - am having more fun learning it than any other language in the past decade. I feel very enthusiastic about it.

At present, i am running it on 2 systems, Win98SE on an old Compaq 1592 - the RAM is way undersized at 48, but Curl apps are all running nicely there.  Have just installed it on a second-hand Dell Latitude running ME (don't ask, it came with the box and will be removed sooner rather than later) - this box has 384 MB RAM and a fast processor, so Curl works nimbly.
