Thanks, but for the moment, I'm just rediscovering what others already know (eg. I see from comments in prep-bindist-mingw that the .pdf version has been taken out because of problems with fop/xsltproc - I don't know whether that refers to the errors I saw or whether things have been worse in earlier versions?). Never- theless, I've been putting my experiences here in the mailing list archives because that is where I'd google for answers (usually with the error message as the search term). As far as I'm able to make any suggestions for improvements, I'd prefer someone to check them (instead of me committing and others having to clean up!-), so I won't need commit permission just yet - perhaps later. I assume that everybody is monitoring this list for things affecting "their" playgrounds, or should I cc them?
