Thanks for the reply Robert!

I have mine set up like;
{internet}--{cable modem}--{computer}

I ordered a router, but it is not here yet.

I think its the activating the account part I'm having the problem
with. So how do I find out what that 'super-secret Charter site' is?

Do you by any chance know how to get in contact with the charter guy who
set yours up? The guy I talked to on the phone today basically said he
didn't know anything about linux and that they didn't provide any
support for it.

Should I have been given a user name or password? I asked the guy on
the phone about that too, and he said no.
