Oddly no, different macs worked for a while then it stopped a few days

it worked. so far it has not asked to authenticate for a month or so
but the connection does go down and I have to reboot the cable and the
wireless.

I've been having intermittent internet connection since last night. But this morning was the worst. I'm beginning to suspect that I have a crappy cable modem.

Here's the info on the modem itself:

Cable Modem Information
Cable modem : Ambit Cable Modem MAC Address: 00:02:8A:C6:A0:56
Serial Number: 00d059aa0119 Board ID: U10C011.00.01_US01
Boot Code Version: 3.13.2 Software Version: 2.57.2025
Hardware Version: 1.12 Web Based Configuration Pages Version: 1.0.2

I was able to get this by going to http://192.168.100.1. This puzzles me considering that the 192.168.x.x network is not anywhere in my routing table. If I cannot get a connection to Charter (i.e. the "Ready" light is not on or flashes), then the modem returns 192.168.100.1 as my default route. When this happens, I, too, have to reboot my cable modem and wifi.

Anyone know anything about Ambit Cable Modems?

- Robert
