Called up Charter and went through their voice menu system in this order:


3 - technical issues
4 - broadband
3 - Mac (choose 2 for Windows)

Got a tech person who walked me through these steps:

- Turn off computer
- Turn off modem (unplug) to clear out modem's memory of MAC address
- Turn on modem (plug in)
- Turn on computer with Knoppix CD
- Start Mozilla
- Go to http://www.cwelug.org

Worked great.

My suggestion is that you tell them you have a Mac and fake it.
