| I was wondering about that because I thought that if you wanted to
| follow sarge, you would have to replace the word "testing" in
| sources.list to "sarge" or leave as testing if you so choose to get
| newer versions or parts of newer versions such as the bits and pieces of
| KDE for instance that came down while it was being updated.
|
| Any recommendation as to whether it's better to follow "testing" or,
| "sarge" and then if you really want a package in testing to specify it
| with -t testing when you apt-get it?

When sarge goes stable what's in testing will change to stuff from unstable.

If you want to stick with sarge when it goes stable use 'sarge'. If you
want to stay on the bleeding--no, no . . . cutting--no . . . with debian
that's 4 months ago packages in the new testing then use 'testing'.

I don't recommend 'testing' on a production box because if sarge ever
does go stable a lot of people are going to get a surprise when they update.

Now that's supposing that sarge EVER WILL go stable--to which many of us
have grave doubts. But there was talk recently of cutting back the
official debian platforms to 4--but that wouldn't be until after sarge
is released--which leaves us back where we started: A snail's pace where
Debian developer's try to test every package on 18 archs and by the time
all the testing is done there are 2 newer versions of that package in
most other distros.
