I spent a number of hours working with OO base 2.0 this weekend. My
conclusion is that I don't know what I'm doing so I didn't get far.

Of course it works like Access in creating tables, forms, reports, etc.
(as far as i know access anyway). I concentrated on extending
functionality through scripting/programming.

A few things to note.
*) OO 2.0 now supports Java, Javascript and Python in addition to StarBasic.
*) StarBasic is api compatible with VBScript when not using the OO API
*) I was able to get a form to run a javascript module (or at least what
passes for a javascript module in OO)

I don't know how to access the data on the form from. If I knew
VBscript and access programming I might have been able to figure that
out. But I'm not sure which API should be used to access the data:
older VB/Star or new OO? maybe both? I searched for quite a bit and
could not find anything that describes the Base api or how to access
data in base. I found documents on the other components.

If you want to try this stuff out you can go to Tools->Macros something
something. you'll see. it's fairly easy to find.
