Robert,

I'm sorry. After re-reading that paragraph (for about the 6th time),
I realize that I should have said "relational database application",
meaning that we want to define the fields, tables and table relationships
necessary to incorporate the required data.

We aren't looking at designing the next relational database language
as on the scale of dBASE, Ingres, DB2, FOCUS, XDB, or whatever.

We want to work with the database tools in the version 2 Beta of the
OpenOffice.org package and MS Access (only because the benefactors just
can't deal with anything else). This is to be a short term solution.

Then again, our perception of the problems and possible methods of finding
solutions is limited. Additional input won't be of much good unless
it is done at the OLMOLUG meeting after a full review of the needs.

Sounds like an interesting project. Will it be OpenSource? If so, is there any reason not put the project up on Source Forge? SF provides a nice infrastructure to manage software projects. Also, by hosting it there you may be able to attract developers who may not be able to make it to the meeting. If you want a hand with getting it on SF, I'd be happy to help with that. It takes about 24-48 hours to get a project approved.

Just my $0.02.
