'Familiarity with Access' equates to ability to use a mouse and normal
windoze functions like a printer icon.
FWIW, using OO as a front end is actually pretty dumb, .. you would be
bypassing Access entirely! (The DB part of Access is really just there
because it's required - you can use 'file access' or any ODBC connection
for an Access application; Access itself is a collection of tools that
build forms & reports without all the complexity of VB).
The Base part of OO is **NOT** equivalent in any way, shape, or form to
Access - it cannot be used to build a standalone application, nor does it
have any of the form or report tools.
It would be MUCH more useful AND productive to do the solution as a
web-based application! That way it could be accessed from anywhere, and
the database itself could be kept 'out of harm's way'.
If the user requirement is truly for an Access application, there is no
way to do it OS.
