Hi,
I"m new to the group and I have Scott Granneman to thank for that.
Here's my first post:
I'm trying to take an external USB 250GB hard drive and make 2 partitions
(one for Mac and one for windows) It only seems to let me do both volumes
in the same format. (I did this using Disk Utility for Mac) the built in
Windows utility is a big pain so I haven't bothered with it really. want to
make the Mac partition 200GB and windows for the remaining...

Here's what I tried as well:
I used disk manager in Windows to make a 30 GB NTFS partition with the rest
as free space
then, I plugged it into the Mac and used disk utility (the NTFS volume
showed up with 200 GB free space just as in Windows) to create a HFS+ [Mac
OS extended (journaled)] partition on the remaining 200GB. The end result
was 2 partitions, both HFS+ [Mac OS extended (journaled)]. Luckily I did
not have anything on the NTFS partition. So it doesn't look like this
scheme is going to work either. Any ideas?
