Okay, have you ever heard of FDF? Or PDF Forms? I am trying to auto
generate pre-filled PDF files on a web site. Say you enter data on a
HTML web form, then download the pre-filled PDFs. Think Tax forms etc.

Problem is, how to get the PDFs with form fields w/o paying the Acrobat
prices. Luckilly, the originals are MS Word, so I imported into OOo,
replaced the underlines with text boxes. Named the text boxes, exported
as PDF. Then I wrote a short Ruby script to replace the form fields with
the web POSTed data.

Very useful.
