For the record, I also experience the same thing. It looks like it may 
be a Mail.app bug. I'm running OS 10.3.9 and Robert is running 10.4.6. 
I haven't seen the problem anywhere else.

Cecil, which mail client are you using to generate those emails? If I 
can replicate the circumstances, I can file a more complete bug report 
with Apple.
