Robert, did you get this finalized? I just worked on it and couldn't get anything to play after I followed all the instructions on this thread and the referenced forums. Discovered that I needed libdvdcss. You can get the latest version from here: http://download.videolan.org/pub/libdvdcss/ The main page for libdvdcss is here: http://developers.videolan.or/libdvdcss/ After downloading libdvdcss, which isn't available via apt-get, I had to compile, make and make install. Came accross a compiler error and after some googling, found that I needed to install some additional items: apt-get install libc6-dev g++ gcc Once those were installed, ran the following, as outlined in the libdvdcss INSTALL file: ./configure --prefix=/usr make make install Once this was completed, DVDs played fine in MPlayer, Totem, gxine, and VLC. They played best in VLC though. Actually, they all played the same but VLC's interface seemed a bit smoother. Ogle displayed the video correctly but the sound was a little messed up. I'm not going to research that since I've got several other players which play the DVD just fine. hth, sean -- Sean Burns [EMAIL PROTECTED] http://bworks.dyndns.org/ [EMAIL PROTECTED] http://cowl.freeshell.org/ SDF Public Access UNIX System http://sdf.lonestar.org/ _______________________________________________ CWE-LUG mailing list [email protected] http://www.cwelug.org/ http://www.cwelug.org/archives/ http://www.cwelug.org/mailinglist/
