Today I learned:

    sudo apt-get install hfsplus hfsutils

will allow you to access drives with hfs on them.

he surprise here is, that before this case, whenever I typed a
terminsl command that was not in my system it would tell me
that sudo apt-get install  xxxxx  would allow me to use that xxxxx
utility.  In this case I got nothing, and I was almost tempted to
believe that it was impossible to read hfs partitions from Ubuntu and
linux in general.

Why would that fail to happen?  Anyone?
