thats my point. hfsplus isn't a command. if there was a command in the apt repository called hfsplus then it would have told you what package to download to get that program. for example the 'perf' command comes from the linux-common-2.6 package (or something) so it found it. if you typed xfs, it would suggest you installed xfs, the x font server, not the XFS file system or its tools. If you typed hfs, not hfsplus, it would suggest you install hfsplus-tools or something (i already have it installed) but hfsplus does not correspond to a program in apt so you get no response. next time you're wondering about a program's existence try 'apt-cache search' it would be nice if apt-get had a search feature like yum does but the apt suite is kind of complicated.
