I agree - This sculpture should be in Liverpool - the centre of all culture
and peaceful experiences in this country.

Why shouldn't someone like John Lennon have a permanent place in Trafalgar
Square? He seemed a decent enough chap to me and did what he did through by
way of his own talent.

Nelson is there - I would say Nelson was responsible for more death and
depravity than many others - and I'm just talking about the British sailors
who were on his ships. Its OK to have statues honoring warmongers (OK - a
product of his time but a warmonger all the same) but not someone who wrote
quite a few good tunes and certainly enlightened more lives that Nelson
ever did and will do?

Its not just singers of songs of course - Michael Faraday was born in South
London, Elephant and Castle. I won't drone on about how important
Faraday's work was to modern day life - we all know. If you look hard
enough you will find a small plaque 'honouring' his existence bolted to the
wall of the shopping centre down there. Poor old Faraday - now if he'd only
been a General or similar.....

I didn't think Nelson was a warmonger, just a good admiral.
