Earlier in his life Chapman was a very experienced travel writer. I have a
copy of a book published in the early 1930's about his travels in Tibet only
20 years after it was first opened up by Younghusband.

The Jungle is Neutral is about stay behind parties in the Malayan jungle who
allowed themselves to be by-passed by the Japanese and then carried on the
fight, it is a truly remarkable book. When he was finally repatriated to
India after 3+ years in the jungle he was recuperating and picked up a book
of travel stories. He soon realised that it was one of his own but hadn't
recognised the title as it had been published posthumously (or so his
publishers thought).

for you, you give it power to do things to you; and the State invariably
makes as little as it can of the one power and as much as it can of the
other.
