The germans developed cyanide filled bullets for executing prisoners on the
Russian front. These bullets were 9mm para with a glass phial on cyanide
inside. They were no more lethal than an ordinary ball round but cost a
fortune. The original idea was to save money on volley fire or multiple shot
executions by knowing that the victim would die soon therafter.
