I think my preferred action would be for the teams to turn up empty
handed and stand at the firing point.

A team score of zero would get some publicity. Especially if properly
managed in the media, and pushing the fact we have god knows how many
golds in the past. If the team compete, and especially if they tow the
line and practice at Bisley, then they have betrayed every person who
had to hand equipment in, due to the acts of 1997.

If they are elitist and don't care about shooting they'll compete. If
they genuinely care about future competitors, and the teams of years to
come they will make a stand.

Only time will tell.

How would that show that they cared?

Richard's list of similar attempts was interesting as I had heard
of none of them.

Attempting to politicise a sporting event by the competitors
rarely goes down well with the public. From a PR standpoint
I think it would backfire. Unsportsmanlike behaviour is not
looked upon favourably.

I'm not saying it definitely wouldn't get sympathy, I just don't
think it is that clear cut.

Steve.
