Mellor is no longer anything to do with the Tory party, and besides he was
not a typical example of a Tory MP.
Voting Tory is the ONLY option for shooters and anyone
else interested in preserving a semblance of civil rights.
This Labour government is only interested in controlling the population ,
and in doing so dividing any groups that may oppose their plans.
If we want any chance of getting back pistols or even of
retaining what we currently have then a Conservative vote is a MUST.

Bearing in mind this is the party that gave us the SLR ban,
the handgun ban, the 1992 firearm rules, the Firearms Act 1982,
the 1990 club guidance and more besides.
Blindly voting tory is the worst thing we could do, IMO. They
must earn our votes. Which party they happen to be a member of
is immaterial. On the point about party culture made earlier,
which party has a pro-gun culture? None of them do. Looking
at James' message here I could have sworn it was written in 1996
when we were talking about the then Conservative Government.
If the tories were in power now, my sport would still be banned
so why on Earth should I blindly vote tory? Pick the best
candidate and talk them around. You may not be 100% successful,
but this is going to require substantial effort on the part of
every serious shooter, to put it mildly.
Steve.
