Yes, the police charge for traffic and crowd control at football matches and
similar events, BUT the charge probably does not cover the full cost of the
provision of officers for such duties.
I must be the only guy you know who is able to brag that the only football
matches I have ever been to I was paid to attend. Time and a quarter to
time and a half if I remember correctly - mind you Boxing Day matches used
to get a lot more than that <GGGGGGGG> (Ear to ear ...... 'oh happy days
!!!)
