My wife once worked with one of the couple who found a 9mm bullet stuck in
their front door in Gosport, the nearest range was at HMS Sultan, and as it
happened during the week it MUST have been jolly jack that did it and not a
civilian.
Having visited Sultan "professionally" in the past I was always very aware
of jacks lack of skill and safety training with firearms (gate sentry
fingering the trigger due to boredom is a good start don't you think),
unlike the Marines most sailors don't handle firearms enough to be safe with
them IMHO.
