Matt, Dan, David C., Jim, Mike K. & myself cruised from the "Y" at 5:30. Another short ride today so I knew it was gonna be fast. Jim doesn't waste any time on the way out of town. Matt pulls 25 mph into the wind on Bend of the River going east. He's on my team! From Bend of the River we travel S. Halifax Rd. to 301 for a different twist then back through Elm City. I collect 3 sprint points to Elm City when Matt celebrates about 2 seconds too early. Rookie!!! There was a breakaway for the stage finish today, Dan and Matt both left a little early giving the peloton a chance but a red light sealed our fate. I don't think we had a chance anyway. They were smokin! I don't even know who got the stage win as I was in another zip code. Great ride and the peloton stayed together nicely until the end averaging 21.6999 mph for 28 miles.
