Agreed; the distro cmake is completely useless.

So this doesn't "break" KitWare's other projects after all, it just
builds them differently from upstream's preferences.

So it would seem.  The question is, what do we do about it?  Since we
apparently cannot convince Bill to change cmake, the only solution I see
is to remove him from the Cygwin cmake package maintainership, although
that is obviously a last resort which cgf or Corinna would be very
hesitant to use.  Thoughts?
