Your successful build of VTK debunks their claims that not defining WIN32 will "break" their other products; all it does is build according to *our* expectations of Cygwin instead of theirs. How do you propose to proceed? > If we don't succeed we need to rise an ITA on the > cygwin-apps list. Agreed. I admit my patience is running thin with this situation; while some progress has been made on accepting my patches, the core issue of (not) defining WIN32 has moved nowhere over nine months. > Do you know how many packages already included in the Distro > are using cmake as building tool ? > I guess except your efforts the are very few due to this > broken cmake setup. As we have no central distro source repository (unlike other distros), I cannot say for sure, but I suspect you are correct. I have approx. 140 source packages which use cmake in Ports git. Only one (libproxy) is in the distro; it previously used autotools, and I needed to update it even after it switched to cmake. Otherwise, I have hesitated to add others for this very reason.
