Is there a way to run setup without using setup-tools? This method
DOES NOT work (according to the stated goal of setup-tools the whole
thing should be automatic: it can't even find the silly file, so it
fails miserably in that regard.) Can we not have a pure distutils
installation to fall back on if:
a) one does not have an active Internet connection
b) one cannot get setup-tools to behave
I note that, even in the latest "bleeding edge" source, the URL for
the setup-tools is incorrect: as I understand it, that shouldn't
matter because ez-setup should be able to find the latest version
anyway??
All-in-all, I've found ez-setup to be anything but.
