I am the same way you are, except I grew up with WYSIWYGs. People just don't realize the quickness of things like Latex and hand coding. Rich, have you switched to a Dvorak layout yet? Don't like Emacs though. Prefer Kate, BBedit, or TextMate. I think that I would like to know this syntax as well, for I plan on using it for an up and coming project.
