Nate, When I started using mainframes, it was with the 80-column Hollerith cards that we punched on the 029 keypunch. I also worked with paper tape and Teletype(R) consoles. Wrote my dissertation using TDP (Text and Document Processor, a line-oriented editor like vi -- probably why I don't like vi) on the HP/3000 and printed on a Diablo electronic typewriter where I had to stand and feed each page by hand. > People just don't realize the quickness of things like Latex and hand > coding. Rich, have you switched to a Dvorak layout yet? No. I've been typing for about 50 years now with the old, awkward layout designed to slow typists on the earliest typewriters. But, when the creative juices are running I easily do 70-80 wpm. > Also, is there a way to embed latex in the report? Don't know about ReportLab because I've not used it yet, nor read the docs. I know that I can with SciPy and MatPlotLib. Perhaps Paul and Ed will accommodate us and those who follow. Rich -- Richard B.
