Eewww! I inherited a project in VMP, and found it to be a nightmare.
A simple form is already several levels down in the form class
hierarchy; grids were all-powerful, and controlled all data access,
sorting and everything else to do with data on a form; every form
defaulted to sucking every bit of data, and it was a real pain to
create a form that only pulled down what it needed. Grids had 10
columns, and you had to set a property to remove the ones you didn't
need!
I ended up integrating Codebook bizobjs into VMP to make a bizarre
hybrid framework. Shortly afterwards, they came out with the grafted-
on n-tier support which was (IMO) a whole lot messier than the
grafting I did.
