I took up the framework when Drew demonstrated it at our user group. I
didn't like VMP or F1 or any of the frameworks prior to that. I did use
parts of codebook because it "fit my brain" as one wise old programmer
put it. ;^) The latest VMP is pretty impressive. I put together a
complete multi-user application for taking orders and dispatching trucks
in about a week. It replaced a C# application that was about a year in
development and most of the features were not there or didn't work.

VMP also has a very active message board and Drew was always there to
answer questions. He did a five part series of webinars that was over
10 hours of instruction on the framework that included users asking
questions during the webinar that is available to anyone at no charge.
He also put tons (and I mean tons) of documentation in every class
including how to implement the class.

My experience with VMP has helped me understand how to use a framework
more effectively in development; and after so many years of maintaining
my own code it was fun to be able to learn something new and put it to
work in my business.

Which brings us back to the original thing I said about how much fun it
is to learn Python and Dabo! Oh yeah, and Linux too.
