Tammy,
even though you don't want to do this, in my opinion you will have to ignore
him. If you pay attention to him or take him out every time he wants to he's
just going to continue this behaviour. He will not stop this until he
realizes that night time is sleep time and no matter how he whines or bangs
he won't get to go out. He will have to learn this. Might be hard for the
first couple nights but he'll soon get the picture.
