Oh Tracey...boy does that sound familiar!!

It doesn't help that Samson is afraid of the dark...yep, you heard right.
Mr. Hellspawn is afraid of anything that goes bump in the night. (At what
age do they outgrow this weird fearful stage?) The funniest was the night
that we went out to potty and encountered a flock of Canadian geese flying
overhead.

I heard them coming first. I'd taken Samson out, on leash always, to the
back yard. He'd started to pee when I noticed that goofing honking noise
they make...it was off in the distance but coming closer. As they finally
got overhead, Samson stopped peeing, gave me this terrified look, then
DRAGGED me back to the deck...he tried to jump up onto the back of the deck
(between the railings), which is waist high on me. Needless to say, he
didn't make it. He then dragged me to the front of the deck and the steps
leading up to the front door. As we went in the door, he kept looking back
over his shoulders for those big, mean monsters that he was sure were coming
after him...

Okay, that's my funny Samson story for the week.

I know what you're saying about wanting to prevent the mess...Hoss used to
be sooo bad about getting diarrhea in the night and never making a peep. I
got so used to listening intently in my sleep that if Hoss woke up and
started pacing in circles I would wake up and know that I needed to take him
out. (This is while he's in the spare bedroom, not in mine...) I got the
same way with Samson when he was sick...anticipating him having to get up.
I have to break myself of that habit, too!

Hopefully tonight will be better!
