Get another coil fork. they're cheaper to buy and to maintain, don't give hassles, take life's knocks better. Downsides: (1) they're heavy and (2) you do need to match the spring in them to your riding style / weight.
Anything over 100mm of travel makes it climb bad. 100mm for me is the sweet spot. I still climb badly but I don't hate it as much. I looked at the Rockshock Sektor some time back to replace my Rockshox Revelation dual air pop-lock-u-turn-blablabla fishpaste because I don't need all those extras. http://www.bikeradar.com/mtb/gear/category/components/forks-suspension/product/review-rockshox-sektor-rl-dp-coil-12-46064 DeeKay On Thu, Oct 11, 2012 at 1:28 PM, Jacques Booysen <[email protected]>wrote: > I have a hardtail giant talon 26inch, and i love it and take it all over > the world. > > My front shock Rockshock Tora is finish.. kla .. kaput. > They quoted me R1600 to service it, and R2600 for a brand new one. > > Say i want to rather get a new shock that is slightly better with more > travel but not that much more expensive. > What models should i be looking at? > > Any advice would be apreciated. > > Gonna make a return to D&D once my bike is back from the shop.. > > Thanks > Jacques > > -- > You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups > "DarkAndDirty" group. > To post to this group, send email to [email protected]. > To unsubscribe from this group, send email to > [email protected]. > For more options, visit this group at > http://groups.google.com/group/darkanddirty?hl=en. > -- Donald Klopper [email protected] -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "DarkAndDirty" group.
