it would be great, if lensfun could do that, too: I've patched the DT
master to check "Exif.OlympusEq.LensType", giving it higher
precedence, but now my MFT lenses aren't found any more. This seem due
to that lensfun uses the Exif.Photo.LensModel value and not the
Exif.OlympusEq.LensType.

For the three MFT lenses I own that would be:

Exif.OlympusEq.LensType Byte 6 Olympus
M.Zuiko Digital ED 12-50mm F3.5-6.3 EZ
Exif.OlympusEq.LensModel Ascii 32 OLYMPUS
M.12-50mm F3.5-6.3
Exif.Photo.LensModel Ascii 32 OLYMPUS
M.12-50mm F3.5-6.3
- ----
Exif.OlympusEq.LensType Byte 6 Olympus
M.Zuiko Digital 45mm F1.8
Exif.OlympusEq.LensModel Ascii 32 OLYMPUS
M.45mm F1.8
Exif.Photo.LensModel Ascii 32 OLYMPUS
M.45mm F1.8
- ----
Exif.OlympusEq.LensType Byte 6 Olympus
M.Zuiko Digital ED 40-150mm F4.0-5.6 R
Exif.OlympusEq.LensModel Ascii 32 OLYMPUS
M.40-150mm F4.0-5.6 R
Exif.Photo.LensModel Ascii 32 OLYMPUS
M.40-150mm F4.0-5.6 R

Essentially, Exif.OlympusEq.LensType gives the most precise name for
the lens.

Since the string is generated by exiv2 from the six byte binary code,
all possible names in this tag can be found at
http://dev.exiv2.org/projects/exiv2/repository/entry/trunk/src/olympusmn.cpp
(currently, rev. 3229), lines 1241 ff.

I've looked into the exiv2 code and documentation, and from what I
understand, they do everything right.

I couldn't create a bug report for DT, since, as I understand, you can
only do that with an account to the redmine andmy account, that I
requested a long time ago, seems not to be activated. I've tried to
request another one.

Take care,
