Thanks for that support, Frank. My problem is that the Mac OS version I downloaded doesn’t work in the same way as the Linux version - dt doesn’t crash on Linux when it comes across a Coolscan nef file, for example - and numerous other crashes I’ve experienced don’t involve Coolscan files. I’ve been trying to compile my own Mac OS version using the instructions here: http://fossies.org/linux/darktable/packaging/macosx/BUILD.txt and I found I had to install numerous additional packages to get through the build phase and into “make”. Here is where I last got stuck, and I’ve been unable to find a gdkquartz package to give “os.mm” the .h file it needs. %%%% Michaels-iMac:build michaelhendry$ make [ 0%] Updating version string [ 0%] Built target create_version_gen [ 0%] Built target generate_version [ 0%] Built target locale_uk [ 0%] Built target locale_th [ 0%] Built target locale_sv [ 0%] Built target locale_sl [ 0%] Built target locale_ja [ 0%] Built target locale_ro [ 0%] Built target locale_pt_BR [ 0%] Built target locale_pt_PT [ 0%] Built target locale_nl [ 0%] Built target locale_it [ 1%] Built target locale_hu [ 1%] Built target locale_es [ 1%] Built target locale_gl [ 1%] Built target locale_he [ 1%] Built target locale_pl [ 1%] Built target locale_fi [ 1%] Built target locale_de [ 1%] Built target locale_el [ 3%] Built target locale_sk [ 3%] Built target locale_cs [ 3%] Built target locale_ru [ 3%] Built target locale_zh_CN [ 3%] Built target locale_fr [ 4%] Built target locale_da [ 4%] Built target locale_ca [ 4%] Built target locale_sq [ 4%] Built target locale_af [ 4%] Checking validity of data/darktableconfig.xml [ 4%] Built target validate_darktableconfig_xml [ 4%] Built target generate_preferences [ 4%] Checking validity of external/rawspeed/data/cameras.xml [ 4%] Built target validate_cameras_xml [ 17%] Built target rawspeed [ 17%] Built target generate_metadata [ 17%] Building CXX object src/CMakeFiles/lib_darktable.dir/osx/osx.mm.o /Users/michaelhendry/src/darktable/src/osx/osx.mm:24:10: fatal error: 'gdk/gdkquartz.h' file not found #include <gdk/gdkquartz.h> ^ 1 error generated. make[2]: *** [src/CMakeFiles/lib_darktable.dir/osx/osx.mm.o] Error 1 make[1]: *** [src/CMakeFiles/lib_darktable.dir/all] Error 2 make: *** [all] Error 2 %%% I’m beginning to feel that providing and supporting a Mac version of darktable is not a priority, and that I should be looking elsewhere for an image library manager. Although Shotwell was available some years ago in Mac OS X form, this is no longer the case - perhaps it proved too difficult? Unless there is a Darktable user out there who can help me compile a version of dt which I can run under gdb, I can’t proceed.
