Hi Bruce, Quick answer, I'm in a bit of a rush.
To my knowledge the "git tag" command only shows basic version info. On my side it also shows what you are seeing: git tag 0.3 0.4 accels-premerge post0.9 release-0.5 . . release-2.6.2 release-2.7.0 release0.4 So that's nothing to worry about (Atm my development version is 2.7.0+1959~ga6b9b9058). On my machine I have 2 darktable versions: - The stable 2.6.2 one I installed with Debian, which resides in /usr/bin/darktable and is in my PATH setting. - The development version, which can be found in /opt/darktable/XYZ and is not in my PATH. If I run: darktable --version The one available from my PATH is run and I get: this is darktable 2.6.2 . . If I run: /opt/darktable/bin/darktable --version The development version is run and I get: this is darktable 2.7.0+1959~ga6b9b9058 . . Might the same scenario be true for what you are seeing? Which distro are you using (Mint right; if I remember your videos correctly). Have to run, I just thought that this might be the case. Let me know and I'll get back to you.
