Hi Jan,
I am not a developer so I defer to any advice given by the developers
here. 3.6.1 is stable so that should not be the issue. I always let the
installation process uninstall previous versions of darktable to avoid any
conflicts. I suspect because you are trying to run two versions of DT that you
have inadvertently created conficts in the database. Hopefully someone else
will add to this conversation with a more informative answer. It would also
help to know what operating system you are working on as there may be different
issues with MAC, Windows or Linux.

Subject: [darktable-user] problem installing darktable

Hello,

I'm not sure if I'm using the correct email addres about my trouble installing
darktable 3.6.1 over the old installation 3.6.0
I have lost the different email addresses of the list.

I have the new darktable installed in a seperate directory, so I could continue
work with the old one.
I did not realise 3.6.1 is not a stable one.
Problem is that after deleting the old darktable the new 3.6.1 is not correct.
So I ran the installation of the new one again.
I had to update the database.
I did not realise 3.6.1 is not a stable one.
But some things are missing - the new quick acces in darktable. Also the images
appear to be altered.
Also the export module is still in the right panel.
How can I resolve this?
I'm thinking to remove the complete installation of darktable and install the
latest version again.
That should be 3.6.0 as the latest stable one
Is that possible, to remove the installation and install the 3.6.0 version
again.
I don't want to lose my edits.

kind Regards
Jan Minekus
