I fear this is a bit to complex for the occasional user. Also dropping 
and reimporting a film role, hm... If I'd not understand what this 
actually does I'd not do it, and if I understand what it does I don't 
need a manual anymore ;)

Probably, it would be better to give some detailed advise why it is 
usually not necessary at all to rename a file after the initial ingest. 
At least not if it was properly, autmagically renamed at this point. 
This should probably be paired with a detailed description how a naming 
scheme could look like. (I found Kroghs DAM Book quite enlightening for 
this. Probably something like a simple "do it that way and then _USE_ 
the DB" would be enough.) IMHO the initial ingest should create proper 
file names already, and later on the name of the file is irrelevant 
except that (in best case) it should be unique. At least I never rename 
files after ingest from the camera and even this initial renaming is an 
automatism generating something like R for raw + date + DSC-No. This 
results in something like R20120222-8031.NEF. The rest/retrieval is 
metadata, not file name / dir structure.
